Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital's 14 West is a 31-bed High Reliability General Medicine unit. We are seeking a skilled RN for 3 twelve-hour shifts, 7PM to 7AM, with every other weekend and rotating holidays; total 36 hours per week.

The RN will provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process, upholding safety and standards, and supporting a relationship-based care model within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with standards and procedures.
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Department: 34404 Advocate Lutheran General Hospital - Nursing: 14W Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 36 Schedule Details/Additional Information: 3 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, rotating holidays Pay Range: $38.20 - $57.30 Registered Nurse (RN) General Medicine Status: Full time 0.9 Hours: 7PM-7AM, rotating weekend Where You Will Work: 14 West is a 31-bed High Reliability General Medicine Care unit. The unit is inclusive of 13 private, and 9 semi-private rooms. 14 West has a focus in Hospice Care, Adult Cystic Fibrosis, general medical/surgical diagnosis, and substance abuse. Typical patient population includes abdominal pain, pneumonia, infectious diseases, substance abuse, pain management, and chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The unit has one negative pressure isolation room. A multidisciplinary team approach to patient care is evident on the unit. In addition, 14 West staff promotes and practices according to relationship-based care model of nursing.

We’re Looking For:
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
What You’ll Do:

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
