Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Medical Procedures Unit, a mixed medical, surgical and intermediate care setting. The RN will admit, assess, medicate, and communicate with families while supporting teamwork to deliver excellent patient care.

Ideal candidates have IMCU experience or at least two years of acute Med/Surg RN practice, with Virginia or Compact license and BLS. Sign-on bonuses are available for qualified applicants.

Sentara is currently hiring a Registered Nurse to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital located in Norfolk on our Medical Procedures Unit. This unit will have a mixture of medical, surgical and intermediate care patients. Preferred candidates will have IMCU experience or at least two years acute med/surg RN experience.

Hours/Shift:

Part-time, dayshift. Approximately 7am to 7pm

Department/Position Overview:

This 8-bed unit will have a mixture of medical, surgical and intermediate care patients. The RN to patient ratio is 4 to 1 with a Patient Care Technician. We are looking for nurses with IMCU experience or at least two years of recent RN Medical Surgical acute care nursing experience. The IMCU patients will not include those with Bipap, Epidural catheters, Dofetilide and Sotalol Initiation, ventilators, thoracic patients (chest tubes) and post cardiac cath patients.
