Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) on night shift. This full-time role requires an RN license and BLS certification, with a sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and relocation packages available.

The 7N IMCU is a 16-bed unit delivering skilled care across medical-surgical and step-down patients. You will apply the nursing process, collaborate with the care team, and support patient and family education.

Qualifications

• RN degree required.
• Virginia RN license required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Prior RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process and standards of practice.
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, coordinate care and educate patients and families.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective care and continuity.

Shift: Full Time, Night shift (7a-7p)

Unit Overview: 7N is a 16-bed IMC mixed unit. We provide highly skilled care to a variety of patients!

Overview: The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
