Overview

Sentara is currently hiring an RN to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk on the Med Surg/Hematology Unit. Full‑time, dayshift approximately 7am‑7pm.

Generous Sign On Bonus up to $15,000 and moving allowance for qualified candidates. NEW GRADS welcome: $7,500 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates.

Department/Position Overview

24‑bed Med Surg/Hematology unit caring for a wide variety of medical diagnoses including CHF, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes, stroke, end‑of‑life, and chronic blood disorders such as sickle cell. Nurses perform wound vacs, high‑risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, peritoneal dialysis, and self‑scheduling.

Minimum Requirements

• Virginia or Compact Multistate License in good standing

New Graduate and Transition to Practice Programs

Sentara Health offers a 6‑month Nurse Residency program for new graduates (less than 1 year of experience) with no separate application required. It includes general nursing orientation, specialty clinical track residency, professional development sessions, and mentoring.

Transition to Practice Program automatically enrolls any RN with less than 12 months of experience or transitioning to a new practice area.
