Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg General Surgery 3W to provide compassionate patient care on the night shift. This role follows the nursing process, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and ensures patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. New graduates can earn a $10,000 sign-on bonus and RNs with 1+ years of experience may receive $20,000.

Full-time schedule is 36 hours per week, located at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: ADN, Nursing Diploma, or BSN.
• Current MO RN license or compact licensure as per state regulations.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association, or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Hospital experience preferred depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain accountability.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.
• Performs duties in alignment with Mercy mission, values, and service standards.

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule:Full-time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Night 7:00am- 7:00pm

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred
• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
