Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Med Surg General Surgery 3W. The role supports the nursing process and patient care across shifts with a 36-hour work week and a night schedule 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of $10,000 for new graduates or $20,000 for RNs with 1+ years of experience, with education including ADN, Diploma, or BSN and Missouri RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: ADN, Diploma or BSN.
• Must hold and maintain a current Missouri RN license or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be completed within 30 days of hire.
• Previous hospital experience preferred depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.

Schedule:Full-time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Night 7:00am- 7:00pm

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred
• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
