Job summary

Essentia Health in Minnesota is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to organize and deliver patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

You may cross-train to ED and support emergency response; current RN license and BCLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC/CALS within specified timelines are required; competitive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Must have active RN license in the appropriate state
• Must hold BCLS certification or obtain within 1 month of hire
• Must obtain ACLS certification or obtain within 1 year of hire
• Must obtain CALS or TNCC within 1 year from hire (excluding certain locations)
• PALS certification or ability to obtain within 1 year from hire

Responsible for organizing and providing nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation and job descriptions. Contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meets the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Responds to emergency calls, assists ambulance team in performance of medical services and safe transportation of patients to medical facilities.

Education Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

• BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

One year of RN experience preferred

Nurse will cross train to ED

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

• Current license with the appropriate State Board of Nursing
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from date of hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 year from date of hire
• Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) certification or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) OR MN State Trauma Modules within 1 year from the date of hire. (excluding Superior, Moose Lake, Ada and Sandstone locations)
• Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year from the date of hire only required to obtain once. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 year from date of hire
