Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 3x12s day shift (7a-7p) with rotating weekends and holidays. Sign-on bonuses of $10,000 for new grads and $15,000 for experienced RNs with a 2-year commitment are available.

You will join a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, providing compassionate care and documenting care plans, assessments, and interventions.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required.
• AHA Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of RN experience preferred.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

Join our team in a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). With a 1:6 nurse to patient ratio, you will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. What we’re looking for

Licenses: Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
