Haywood Regional Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU to join a 12-bed unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. Night shifts are 7p-7a, with weekend and holiday requirements.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required.
• Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Must have strong critical thinking, decisive judgment and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and accurate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
