Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Behavioral Health on the night shift. The role involves 3x12s, 7p-7a, with rotating holidays and weekends.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for new grads and $20,000 for night shift experienced RNs with a 2-year commitment. Join a 33-bed Behavioral Health Unit serving adult and geriatric patients, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-1:9 and comprehensive benefits.

Formación

• Active North Carolina RN license required or compact state license with NC licensure expected before employment.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience preferred, in behavioral health ideal.

• Deliver age-appropriate care and document medical necessity timely.

Join our team in a 33-bed Behavioral Health Unit specializing in adult and geriatric patients. Staffed with compassionate healthcare professionals, including RNs, CNAs, Mental Health Assistants, Psychiatrists, and Mental Health Providers. Operating with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-1:9, our unit treats a variety of diagnoses such as Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Patients may present with psychosis, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, mania, or exacerbations of mental illness. This role offers an opportunity to work collaboratively in a supportive environment focused on providing quality care and support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.

How you'll contribute

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Licenses: Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
