RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor & Delivery at RWJ Somerset in Somerville, NJ. This part-time role requires strong clinical judgment, compassionate communication, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care.

You will assess patients, administer treatments, document in EPIC, and participate in rounds. A NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, 1–2 years L&D experience, and an ADN are required; BSN preferred for growth within this premier health

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• ACLS certification required
• 1–2 years Labor & Delivery experience preferred
• Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred for advancement

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes
• Administer medications and provide hands-on care
• Collaborate with physicians and providers for timely care decisions
• Educate patients and families for informed care transitions

Typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification is required. At least 1-2 years of previous Labor and Delivery experience is required. An Associate's degree in Nursing is required. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position is day shift, 36 hours per week, 7am-7:30pm.
