Job Overview

The Charge Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for unit operations, coordinating nursing and interprofessional team members to promote clinical excellence and customer satisfaction. The role involves managing staff, clinical support, and unit management in the absence of the nurse manager/clinical care leader, adjusting schedules based on patient acuity, resources, and care design.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), obtained within 2 years of hire
• Licensure: Current RN license in Virginia
• Experience: 18-24 months in clinical settings with knowledge of nursing theories, policies, and procedures
• Skills: Leadership, management, teaching, and group dynamics

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a charge nurse or in a supervisory role
