Position Overview

We are seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for our Tier III Pool. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients during labor and delivery, ensuring safety, comfort, and high-quality care.

Minimum Requirements
  • BSN
  • PA RN License
  • AHA BLS Certification
Tier III Commitment

Minimum 144-hour commitment per 6-week schedule, including 4 weekend shifts, 1 Winter Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), and 1 Spring/Summer Holiday (Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day).

Responsibilities
  • Assess learning needs, readiness, and identify barriers to incorporate patient education based on age, cultural, and spiritual values.
  • Document admission assessments, plans, interventions, medication use, and monitor outcomes.
  • Utilize information management systems to enhance communication and document patient condition changes.
  • Communicate patient transfer and pertinent information during bedside handoffs and interprofessional rounds.
  • Recognize and address patient special needs, including abuse recognition and referral.
  • Include pain management and supportive care in the care plan.
  • Adhere to infection control standards, maintain a safe environment.
  • Manage patient care delivery, act as a patient advocate, and uphold patient rights.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies to address immediate patient needs.
  • Consult and refer to other healthcare professionals, including addressing ethical concerns.
