Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ, is seeking a night shift Labor & Delivery RN for a full-time role. This position provides direct patient care for obstetric patients and coordinates care with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds an NJ RN license (or multi-state license), has 1–2 years of L&D experience, and maintains ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications. AWHONN EFM training within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• RN license in New Jersey or multi-state RN license
• Graduation from NLN/AACN-accredited nursing program
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire
• NRP certification required
• 1–2 years Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring course within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care to a Labor & Delivery population
• Direct and delegate care to other staff and coordinate with physicians and support services
• Coordinate patient flow and unit activities in collaboration with nursing peers and teams
• Report to Nurse Manager and uphold department policies

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities

• The RN Staff Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes.
• This positiondirects and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.
• Thisposition effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• The RN StaffNurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with New Jersey Board of Nursing or an RN Multistate License from the NCL required.
• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) required.
• 1-2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required.
• Able to complete AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements

• OB nursing certification.
• EFM certification.
• Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
