Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is seeking a night shift, full-time Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse in Westwood, NJ. The RN will care for laboring patients, coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, and support a new maternity center environment.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of L&D experience, NJ RN licensure, and certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NRP. AWHONN fetal monitoring training is preferred and paid time off and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required (NJ Board of Nursing or multistate).
• Graduate of NLN/AACN-accredited nursing program.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire/transfer.
• NRP certification required.

Responsibilities

• The RN Staff Nurse provides care for a specific patient population to achieve outcomes.
• Directs and oversees care by other caregivers through delegation and coordination.
• Coordinates patient care and unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• Reports to the Nurse Manager.

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities

• The RN Staff Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes.
• This positiondirects and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.
• Thisposition effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• The RN StaffNurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with New Jersey Board of Nursing or an RN Multistate License from the NCL required.
• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) required.
• 1-2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required.
• Able to complete AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements

• OB nursing certification.
• EFM certification.
• Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
