Job summary

Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, AZ is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). The role handles step-down cardiac/trauma patients, manages complex drips, and participates in shared governance and night shifts.

You’ll gain growth opportunities toward ICU/Open Heart, with compensation including a sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Arizona or Compact State RN license required.
  • ADN required; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year Med/Surg/Telemetry experience; IMC/PCU/ICU preferred.
  • BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for patients moved from ICU to IMC with critical care skills.
  • Administer medications, collect specimens, and perform treatments per standards.
  • Develop care plans with patient, family and interdisciplinary team.
  • Monitor and communicate patient condition to care team and family.
  • Float to Med/Surg or ICU/ED if trained.

How you'll contribute

An IMC RN who excels in this role will:

  • Provide appropriate care for patients moved from ICU to IMC, utilizing critical care skills and professionalism.
  • Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment for Angio and Medical Surgery units in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Develop nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • May float to Med/Surg unit or ICU/ED if trained (experienced).

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Arizona or Compact State RN license and possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg/Telemetry experience required; IMC/PCU or ICU experience preferred
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required by completion of hospital orientation
  • Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire
