Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Shifts are 3×12 from 7 PM to 7 AM, including rotating weekends. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in Tennessee; compact state license paperwork within 30 days.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school required, BSN preferred.
• One-year prior ICU experience preferred.

Job Summary

Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Full‑time, shifts 3×12 (7p‑7a), rotating weekends. Sign‑on bonus of $10,000 available to qualified applicants.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or families and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.

Qualifications

• Licensing & Education: Current Registered Nurse license in Tennessee or a compact state with Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days; associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school required, BSN preferred.
• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire; AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire; AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
• Experience & Skills: One‑year prior ICU experience preferred; demonstrated critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and thrive in stressful environments.
