Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Infusion to join our Oncology team. This full-time role supports infusion therapy, chemotherapy administration, and patient education across day shifts with a 0.8 FTE (64 hours per pay period).

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license is required.
• Associate's degree in nursing (BSN preferred).
• Infusion and chemotherapy administration experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions including medication administration and related nursing care.
• Documents care in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors patient condition and communicates with the care team and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living and patient education as needed.
• Floats across departments to support staff and ensure continuity of care.

Join a compassionate Oncology team where nursing is more than a job it's a meaningful partnership with patients throughout their cancer journey. You'll provide specialized care through chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, patient education, telephone triage, and comprehensive assessments while collaborating closely with providers, navigators, case managers, social workers, radiation oncology, and palliative care teams. This role is ideal for nurses who excel at critical thinking, multitasking, and relationship-building, and who are passionate about delivering exceptional, patient-centered care during some of life's most challenging moments.

How you'll contribute

An Infusion RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.


• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.


• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.


• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).


• Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.


• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).


• Assesses learning needs; provides age-and culture-appropriate patient/family education.


• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.


• Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred). Additional requirements include

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)


• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Chemo (within 1 year)
