Job summary

Mercy Health's St. Rita’s Medical Center is seeking a Progressive Care (Step down) RN to deliver high-quality nursing care. You will assess patient status, coordinate care across departments, and develop care plans to improve outcomes in a 36-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience required.
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Current state RN licensure; BLS/ACLS preferred at hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to plan and deliver patient care.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop plans of care, implement treatment, and evaluate outcomes.
• Serve as the point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
• Act as a patient safety advocate by supporting quality improvement initiatives.
• Administer medications safely in line with state practice and facility policies.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care (Step down) – St. Rita’s Medical Center

Job Summary

The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Acting as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units
• Determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Serves as point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire)

Experience

• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
