Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care (Step down) unit at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, OH. The role focuses on coordinating care, patient assessment, and safe medication administration within a collaborative care team.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, has 1 year of RN experience, and demonstrates strong leadership and clinical skills. BSN is preferred; BLS/ACLS are required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience (required).
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred).
• Current state RN licensure is required.
• BLS or ACLS certification preferred/required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and planning of care.
• Serve as point of contact for patient care coordination.
• Administer medications safely according to policy.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care (Step down) – St. Rita's Medical Center

Job Summary

The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Acting as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units
• Determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire)

Experience

• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
