Jobot in San Marcos, Texas is hiring a full-time Critical Care Registered Nurse for night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) to provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients. New graduate nurses are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license or multistate compact RN license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• One year of critical care nursing experience preferred; new grads considered.
• Current BLS certification required at time of hire; ACLS within 30–90 days depending on status.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for critical care patients.
• Provide routine and complex nursing care in a fast-paced acute care environment.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and clinical protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and recognize significant changes.
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and resources.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Complete required nursing orientation and competency validations.

We are seeking a full-time Critical Care Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex and potentially life‑threatening medical conditions. New graduate nurses are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for assigned critical care patients
• Provide routine and complex nursing care in a fast‑paced acute care environment
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established clinical protocols
• Closely monitor patient conditions, recognize significant changes, and respond appropriately to emergencies
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatments and monitor patients for potential side effects
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, treatments, and care provided
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families
• Educate patients, family members, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, medications, and available resources
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary clinical team
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate responsibilities to other care providers
• Complete required nursing orientation, Critical Care Department competency validation, and annual competency requirements

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license or multistate compact RN license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• One year of critical care nursing experience preferred
• New graduate Registered Nurses will be considered
• Current BLS certification required at the time of hire
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire for experienced nurses or within 90 days for new graduates and nurses new to the specialty
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and patient care skills

• 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
