Job summary

Wythe County Community Hospital seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 6-bed ICU team. You'll perform patient assessments, implement nursing interventions, document care and contribute to the interdisciplinary care plan.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Handle with Care training within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and identify needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to patient condition and age.
• Document care timely and accurately in medical records.
• Contribute to and update the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
• Complete timely QI assessments.
• Float to various clinical areas as needed.

How you’ll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
• Ability to float to various clinical areas where qualified and competent.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire
• Handle with Care within one year of hire

Hourly Range: $30.64 - $41.36
