Job summary

University Hospitals Parma Medical Center ICU is seeking an experienced RN to provide high-acuity care in an 18-bed unit. You will apply the nursing process, monitor patients with advanced life support therapies, and coordinate with the care team to ensure optimal outcomes.

The role requires a BSN or MN, state RN licensure (OH or compact), and BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required by the unit. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on excellence in patient care.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master in Nursing (MN) required.
RN license in Ohio and/or Multi-State Compact required upon hire.
BLS required upon hire; ACLS/PALS may be required by unit.
Experience in ICU nursing preferred.

A Brief Overview

UH Parma Medical Center- ICU is an 18-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit cares for high-acuity, critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced life sustaining therapies, including ventilators, dialysis, and complex medication management.

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care.

Education

(BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required) or

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
