The Registered Nurse (RN) in our ICU is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate patient care while practicing within the Oregon State Board of Nursing guidelines.

The ICU delivers care for acutely/critically ill patients with advanced monitoring and interventions; the role may require ICU experience or willingness to train a qualified RN with other critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Current Oregon RN license is required.
• Healthcare Provider BLS required upon hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within 90 days of hire.
• TNCC and ATCN required within six months of hire.
• Previous ICU experience preferred; will train qualified RNs with other critical care experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent verification per CAP requirements.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Intensive Care Unit provides direct care or influences care for acutely/critically ill patients who are at high risk for actual or potential life-threatening health problems. The ICU provides care through advanced knowledge and experience in a setting that provides intensive monitoring, assessments, and interventions.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required.
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire.
• GSR ICU-CCU:
  • ACLS and PALS required within 90 days of hire.
  • TNCC/ATCN required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Previous ICU experience preferred, will train qualified RN with other Critical Care experience.
  • Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required due to the College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements for moderate complexity testing.
