Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU. This full-time day shift includes rotating weekends and direct patient care in a high-acuity setting.

The RN will perform assessments, critical care tasks, and family teaching while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team. A valid state license, BLS, ACLS, and ICU experience are required or preferred as outlined.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certificate on hire and maintained.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum 1 year as staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• CCRN certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in the ICU.
• Direct patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing staff.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

• Minimum of 1 year of ICU preferred.

Qualifications
