Job summary

Centerpoint - Georgetown, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor for weekend nights (7p-7a, Friday-Sunday). This full-time role includes a $10,000 commitment bonus and leadership responsibilities to ensure quality patient care.

As House Supervisor you will supervise staff, determine staffing, provide direct patient care as needed, escalate issues, and promote evidence-based practices. KY RN license and ADN required; BSN preferred; BCLS certification required.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current KY RN license or compact state license
• Certifications: BCLS

Responsibilities

• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift
• Determines staffing levels and assignments based on census and acuity
• Provides direct patient care as needed
• Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving
• May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs
• Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies issues
• Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels
• Performs role-specific duties including orders, admissions or discharges, and transfers
• Ensures staff has equipment and supplies for safe care
• Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols

How you'll contribute

A House Supervisor who excels in this role:

Provides off hour leadership and functions as a resource for staff members, assists in patient care and is responsible for the overall quality of patient care in the facility.

• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow.
• Provides direct patient care as needed.
• Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving.
• May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
• Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels.
• Performs role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
• Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
• Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
• Current RN to practice in the state of KY
• Certifications: BCLS
