• Administer medications correctly and educate patients on drug interactions.
• Participate in patient and family education, evaluating teaching effectiveness.

What You'll Do

• Assess patients' physiologic health status through interviews and chart reviews.
• Evaluate gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health.
• Determine mobility, sensory deficits, and skin condition to adjust care plans.
• Communicate and document patients' health status and care plans.
• Assess patients' psychosocial health status and identify cultural needs.
• Develop criteria for measuring patient outcomes and establish individualized goals.
• Formulate and document the plan of care, coordinating with healthcare team members.
• Implement the plan of care while ensuring safety precautions are followed.
• Administer medications correctly and educate patients on drug interactions.
• Participate in patient and family education, evaluating the effectiveness of teaching.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment if hired after September 1, 2010, and obtain a BSN degree within five years of employment.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
