Job summary

Wythe County Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our float pool, providing direct patient care across units with flexibility and collaboration. This full-time night shift role offers rotating weekends, competitive pay, and a commitment to high-quality, compassionate care in a rural hospital setting.

You will assess, plan, implement and document nursing care using the nursing process, monitor patient conditions, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and support process

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• ACLS and PALS are preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process across multiple inpatient units.
• Demonstrate flexibility to float where needed and collaborate with interprofessional teams.
• Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and related care.
• Document care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients and families.

How You'll Contribute

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice across multiple inpatient units.
• Demonstrates flexibility to float where needed and collaborate with interprofessional teams to support safe, high-quality care.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and related medical care.
• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients and families.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

Additional Requirements Include

• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• ACLS, PALS & Advanced Stroke course are preferred.
• At least 1-2 years of clinical bedside experience is required in Critical Care, ED, PACU or similar.
• 2-4 years critical care experience preferred.

Hourly Range: $50 Flat Rate per hour
