UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a Float Pool RN for 6 x 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a) with rotating weekends/holidays in Marquette, MI. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants, and this role supports multiple units across Med/Surg, Neuro/Ortho/Peds, Rehab and Cardiac services.

Applicants should have Michigan RN licensure, ADN (BSN preferred), and critical care experience. BLS-HCP is required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license and ADN or BSN recommended.
• Mandatory BLS-HCP; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Experience in critical care or acute care settings beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Perform plan-of-care interventions including meds, specimen collection, and treatments.
• Document care timely and accurately in the medical record.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate with care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Support activities of daily living and float across units as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for transfers, discharges, and referrals.

The Staffing Pool provides RN coverage across Med/Surg, Neuro/Ortho/Peds, Rehab, and Cardiac units. Staffing Pool RNs are highly adaptable nurses who thrive in dynamic environments and confidently support multiple clinical areas. This role offers a rewarding experience with diverse patient populations and opportunities to strengthen critical thinking and clinical skills.

How you'll contribute

A Float Pool RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assess learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s preferred).

Additional requirements include

Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

1-2 years minimum bedside RN experience

ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care (preferred)

2-4 years critical care experience (preferred)
