Job summary

Desert View in Buhl, Idaho is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the evening shift (2pm-10pm). You will provide patient care, administer medications, and document treatments while collaborating with a supportive team.

Candidates must hold an active RN license in Idaho and be able to read and interpret clinical information in English. Prior experience in long-term geriatric nursing is preferred, with emphasis on infection control and safety.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Registered Nurse license in Idaho.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical information in English.
• Experience in long-term geriatric or skilled nursing care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines.
• Record time spent performing treatments on medication/treatment records.
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs following policies.
• Notify physician of medication refusals, non-compliance, or adverse reactions.
• Keep medication cart and rooms neat and properly stored.
• Assist in orientation and training of new nursing personnel.
• Supervise infection control and safety policies.

What you'll do:

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines
• Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/trea tment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resi dent response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
• Keeps medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and medication stored properly/disposing
• Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing personnel, as required
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures

What we're looking for:

• Current active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
• Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as lift/push/pull 50lbs
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care preferred
