Job summary

Desert View Care Center in Buhl, Idaho seeks a dedicated LPN for a full-time evening shift (2pm-10pm). You will provide compassionate nursing care in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting, supporting long-term and short-term residents with a focus on safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, active license as an LPN.
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care, preferred.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language.
• Must be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement and weight measurement.
• Must have empathy along with exceptional communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments.
• Record time spent performing treatments on the medication/treatment record.
• Ensure proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions.
• Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and the medication stored properly.
• Ensures the correct disposal of all sharps.
• Key information into computer systems including EMR.
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures.
• React appropriately to emergency and disaster situations.
• Other duties as necessary and assigned.
