Job summary

Skyview at Bridgeport is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse for the NOC shift. This role includes administering medications, treatments, and IVs, documenting care, and ensuring safe drug storage.

Qualifications

• Current active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific/technical information in English.
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/push/pull 50 lbs.
• Experience in long-term geriatric nursing care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines.
• Record time spent on treatments per policy and medication record.
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs.
• Notify physician of adverse reactions or non-compliance with treatment plans.
• Keep medication cart and related areas neat and compliant with policies.
• Assist in orientation and training of new nursing staff.
• Practice infection control and safety policies.

What you'll do:

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines
• Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/treatment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a trereatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
• Keeps medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and medication stored properly/disposing
• Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing personnel, as required
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures
