Job summary

UT Health Pittsburg Hospital in Pittsburg, TX is seeking a day shift, part-time Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our caring team. You will deliver bedside nursing across the age spectrum with a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care and safety.

Requirements include a Texas RN license, a current BLS certificate, ACLS, and either PALS or ENPC with NIHSS certification before orientation ends.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Texas RN license.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS/ENPC preferred or required per orientation.
• NIHSS certification required before end of orientation.
• Emergency nursing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
• Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient's needs.
• Delivers care consistent with physician's orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current Texas RN license
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required before end of orientation
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientation
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required before end of orientation

Preferred Job Requirements:

• One year of emergency nursing experience
• Two years of acute care nursing experience
• CEN
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
