Job summary

Ardent is seeking a day shift, part-time Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) in Pittsburg, TX. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population in a Level IV trauma center setting.

The role requires Texas RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC and NIHSS certifications prior to orientation completion. One year of ER experience preferred; hospital teamwork and patient advocacy are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Texas RN license.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS required before end of orientation.
• PALS or ENPC required before end of orientation.
• NIHSS certification required before end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
• Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
• Delivers care consistent with physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.

• UT Health Pittsburg offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, a sleep lab, swing bed care, 16 physician offices, and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness facility.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• One year of emergency nursing experience
• Two years of acute care nursing experience
• CEN
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
