Job summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room, covering night shifts. Responsibilities include patient assessments, initiating nursing interventions, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Job description

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room – Nights

Full‑time position. 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours per week with every other weekend (7P‑7A). In person – Sovah Health – Martinsville.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to the patient's condition and age.
• Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing school.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact state.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certification required within one year of employment.
• Previous experience in an acute‑care hospital setting preferred.
