Registered Nurse RN Emergency Department (Full Time / Nights)

Job Overview

Location: Lancaster General Hospital - Lancaster, PA

Hours: Full Time (36 hours/week), Night Shift (7pm-7am), rotating weekends and holidays, on-call required.

Our Emergency Department treats 300-400 patients daily, from minor issues like sore throats to critical conditions such as stroke or trauma. The ED recently expanded, increasing capacity and including dedicated pediatric and behavioral health beds.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent nursing care in accordance with ANA standards.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care across the continuum.
• Apply nursing process independently, addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific needs.
• Seek and provide feedback to improve clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

• RN licensure from PA Board of Nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
• Completion of Nurse Residency Program or >15 months of practice.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association) within 30 days of hire.
• Good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance programs.

Credentials & Education

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• PA RN license required.
• BSN required; RNC-OB or C-EFM certification within 3 years for Labor & Delivery RNs.
