Harris Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. The role offers a 3x12 night schedule (7p-7a) with weekends/holidays included and a $10,000 sign-on for new grads or $20,000 for night-shift experienced RNs with a 2-year commitment. Qualifications

• Active North Carolina or compact-state RN license required.
• Associate's degree is required; BSN preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within six months.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely documentation in the medical record.
• Maintains and revises the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Conducts timely and accurate quality improvement assessments.

Join our team in our 14-bed Emergency Department with a 5:1 ratio. Our diverse staff includes RNs, CNAs, Paramedics, Secretaries, and Providers, creating a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional care. Known for our wide variety of patient experiences, including abdominal pain, and shortness of breath, we also take pride in our chest pain accreditation. With an average daily volume between 50-70 patients, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality emergency medical care while working alongside a dedicated team in a fast-paced setting.

How you'll contribute

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

• Licenses: Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Associate's degree required, BSN preferred.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
