Job summary

UP Health System - Bell is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department in Marquette, MI. This full-time position offers 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pp) with 6 x 12-hour night shifts and alternating weekends.

A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants. The ED provides 24/7 care with a team of physicians, nurses, and support staff, delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program; bachelor's degree preferred.
• ACLS, BLS-HCP, PALS, TNCC within 1 year.
• 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and other medical care.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge and referrals.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and family and provides education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where skilled healthcare professionals make a difference when patients need it most. Our ED provides 24/7 emergency care to the community, supported by experienced physicians, nurses, and support staff dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care. How you'll contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

Additional requirements include:

• AHA Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)
• 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
