Unit Details

The PVSU at Sentara Norfolk General is a 16-bed unit specializing in care for patients on mechanical ventilators, primarily transferred from ICU. The unit emphasizes maximizing rehabilitation through physical therapy, respiratory care, and mental stimulation, with a nurse/patient ratio of 3:1 based on acuity.

Candidate Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Nursing (Required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or MSN (Preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse License (Required)
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire
