Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care IMCU (Night Shift)
Location: Seattle, WA
Position Highlights

Position Summary
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Critical Care Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) team at our esteemed partner medical facility in Seattle, WA. This full-time night shift position (3 x 12-hour shifts) offers the chance to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals requiring a higher level of monitoring and intervention than a general medical-surgical floor. As a key member of the interdisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with complex conditions, contributing to optimal outcomes and smooth care transitions.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice & Patient Management:
Employs the nursing process to perform comprehensive assessments, identify appropriate nursing diagnoses, and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Develops, updates, and coordinates patient care plans to achieve patient goals and optimize outcomes across the care continuum.
Closely monitors, accurately records, and effectively communicates patient conditions, changes, and responses to treatment.
Performs and maintains currency in essential nursing competencies as required by the IMCU setting and the specific patient populations served.
Patient & Family Advocacy
Effectively advocates for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of patients and their families.
Education & Mentorship
Fosters a dynamic learning environment for patients, families, nursing colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team, including students.
Facilitates both formal and informal learning opportunities to enhance understanding and promote health.
Commitment To Safety & Quality
Demonstrates accountability for safety, proactively identifying and correcting problems.
Integrates evidence-based practices and research into nursing care, utilizing data and evidence to improve patient outcomes.
Aligns patient safety, self-safety, and environmental safety as equally important components for achieving the best outcomes.
Professional Growth & Leadership
Engages in ongoing professional development, practicing to the full scope of licensure within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and specialty nursing standards.
Promotes a culture of inquiry that explores, integrates, and disseminates research and evidence-based practice.
Leads and coordinates care teams, delegates tasks appropriately, and collaborates effectively with all members of the inter-professional care team, integrating nursing knowledge and modeling professional behaviors.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
Current, unrestricted Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) License upon hire.
Current National Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Current National Provider NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics upon hire.
Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in an acute care setting, preferably in critical care, intermediate care, step-down, telemetry, or a comparable high-acuity medical/surgical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
National Certification in a relevant area of specialty (e.g., PCCN - Progressive Care Certified Nurse, CCRN - Critical Care Registered Nurse) upon hire.
