Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, NC, is seeking a skilled RN for a PRN critical care role on a 16-bed unit. The position supports 7pm-7am shifts, with 3 twelve-hour shifts every 6 weeks, and requires completion of an accredited nursing program and an RN license in the state of practice.
Basic Life Support is required, and 2+ years ICU RN experience is preferred. The nurse will provide and coordinate care, monitor patients, and follow orders while delivering safe, therapeutic care.
Department: 34516 Lexington Medical Center - Nursing: Critical Care Status: Part time Benefits Eligible: No Hours Per Week: 0 Schedule Details/Additional Information: PRN - Commitment of 3 12 hour shifts per 6-week time track 7pm-7am One summer holiday and one winter holiday required Pay Range: $38.20 - $57.30 Where You Will Work: The Critical Care Unit at Lexington Medical Center is a 16-bed unit that provides both Intensive and Intermediate Care. A dedicated charge nurse supports the unit without a patient assignment. The unit is equipped to monitor and trend heart rhythms and other hemodynamic pressures. Care of patients on ventilators, noninvasive ventilation with BiPAP or CPAP, and heated high flow oxygen delivery. Titrating medication IV drips to ordered parameters and the ability to follow protocols and order sets. Patient populations include sepsis, shock, respiratory failure, DKA, HHS, electrolyte abnormalities that require close monitoring, COPD, CHF, pulmonary edema, cardiac dysrhythmias, stroke, post-surgical unstable patients, hypertensive emergency that requires IV drips, overdose, ETOH detox, etc.
Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association Greater than 2 years of ICU RN experience preferred
As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
