Job summary

North Alabama Shoals Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care using the nursing process in a fast-paced clinic environment.

The Clinic RN will collaborate across disciplines, document care accurately, monitor patient conditions, and educate patients and families. You’ll work with autonomy yet within a supportive team, participate in performance improvement, and grow professionally through ongoing training and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a current state RN license.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.
• Requires one year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other specialized medical care treatments.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.

How you’ll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

The Clinic RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other specialized medical care treatments.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.
• Requires one year of nursing experience.
