Job summary

Centerpoint - Georgetown is seeking a Clinical Coordinator (RN) to serve as Circulator & Endoscopy nurse in a high-volume perioperative setting. The role involves patient care planning, medication administration, specimen collection, and collaboration with the care team across surgical and endoscopy procedures.

You will prepare and transport patients, ensure proper scope reprocessing, and support pre- and post-procedure care while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • BCLS required
  • ACLS and PALS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Prepares, positions, and transports patients for procedures.
  • Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies. Validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure.
  • Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre-procedure and post-procedure care.
  • Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment.
  • Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
  • Assists patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Schedule: 5 8-hour shifts, or 4 10-hour shifts per week

In September 2022, our surgery unit became a National Bariatric & Robotics Training Center for Lifepoint Health, averaging over 600 robotic cases yearly. Most commonly we perform bariatrics, general, urology and GYN procedures. We have 2 Da Vinci robots and are proud to have recently added a team of vascular surgeons, expanding our scope of practice.

How you'll contribute

A Clinical Coordinator RN who excels in this role:

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Kentucky license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
