Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Winchester, Winchester, KY, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery Circulator for a full-time day schedule. This role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates and requires on-call duties.

As a Circulator RN, you will support surgical workflow in our OR, perform focused assessments, monitor patient conditions, administer meds per the six rights, and collaborate with the team to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications

• RN license in KY or compact state.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• BLS within 7 days of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
• Willingness to take call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
• Meet physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the care team.
• Complete focused patient assessments and reassess as needed.
• Assist physicians with procedures and manage medications safely.

Our 7 bed OR services include specialties in general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics/gynecology, ophthalmology, oral/maxillofacial, podiatry, pain management, ear/nose/throat (ENT), and gastroenterology. Surgical services include pre-admission testing, prep & recovery, operating room, central sterile reprocessing (CSR), and endoscopy/GI.

How you'll contribute

Provides direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural and needs of the patient and family. Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team as appropriate about changes in the patient's condition or response to treatment.

• Completes a focused patient assessment with reassessments
• Based on patients' condition, procedures, medications given and treatments.
• Adequately assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizes appropriate painmanagement techniques.
• Performs patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and specific needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on the age of the patient and the patient's clinical condition. Follows the 6 rights of medication administration to reduce the potential for medication errors.
• Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.

What we're looking for

• Must be willing to take call shifts
• RN license in state of KY or compact state
• Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
• BLS, within 7 days of hire
• Bachelor's degree in nursing Preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
