Job summary

Centerpoint - Georgetown is seeking an ICU RN to join our 6-bed unit with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, delivering critical care and collaborative support. You will perform care plans, document care, monitor patient conditions, assist with activities of daily living, and coordinate transfers and discharges with the team.

Required: Kentucky or compact RN license, Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), BLS within 10 days, ACLS within 30 days, PALS within 45 days, and Handled With Care

Qualifications

• Current Kentucky or compact RN license is required.
• Associates Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and Handle With Care certifications must be obtained within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and procedures.
• Documents patient care provided and monitors patient condition.
• Assists patients with daily living activities and mobility.
• Collaborates with care team on transfers, discharge and psychosocial needs.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age and situation.
• Advocates for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

The intensive care unit (ICU) is a 6-bed unit that provides specialized care for critically ill patients. The unit maintains a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure close monitoring, timely interventions, and high-quality patient care.

How you'll contribute

An Intensive Care Unit RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire
• Handle With Care - within 30 days of hire
• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
