Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL seeks an experienced registered nurse to join the Cardiology/Cardiac Cath Lab team. This full-time role focuses on direct patient care for adults and elderly patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring hemodynamic data, communicating with physicians, assisting with equipment and supplies, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in the state of Illinois.
• BCLS (AHA) and ACLS required on hire.
• One year of cardiovascular lab or critical care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in the cardiovascular lab.
• Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data during procedures.
• Communicate with physicians about patient condition and needs.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and inventory management.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.

Overview

• Department: Cardiology, Cardiac Cath Lab
• Schedule: Days, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m with a 30‑minute on call response time requirement
• Facility: Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital
• Location: Evanston, IL 60201

ResponsibilitiesProvides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with physician continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory. Assesses procedure room or equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met. Monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. Monitors and records patients condition continuously while in the Cardiovascular lab. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.

QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.
• Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.
• Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.
• One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.
