Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, IL, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab nurse. The role offers direct patient care for adults/geriatric patients, collaboration with physicians, and active participation in lab procedures on days with rotating call shifts.

Eligible candidates bring a BSN, active RN license, BCLS (AHA) and ACLS at hire, plus at least one year in a cardiovascular lab or critical care setting. A sign-on bonus is available up to $10,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Active state RN license required.
• Current BCLS (AHA); ACLS certificate required on hire.
• One year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab or Critical Care area required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in the cardiovascular lab.
• Communicate with physicians about patient condition and needs.
• Assist with maintenance of equipment and inventory; ensure readiness of room and supplies.
• Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data during procedures.
• Record and monitor patient status; participate in quality improvement activities.

Schedule: Days; 0800-1730 4 days per week with rotating call shifts

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with physician continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory. Assesses procedure room or equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met. Monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. Monitors and records patients condition continuously while in the Cardiovascular lab. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.

2. Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.

3. Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.

4. One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $38.18 to $57.87. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
