Job summary

St. Luke’s in Boise seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Medical/Surgical team on 6E at our Boise Medical Center. The 6E unit is a fast-paced, 35-bed surgical unit with Bariatric and other specialties, and RN-to-patient ratios of 1:5 (1:4 acuity-based).

We offer full-time or part-time opportunities with day or night shifts, shift differentials, and certification pay. Relocation assistance is available for eligible full-time new hires, along with comprehensive benefits and growth

Qualifications

• RN with 1+ years of relevant clinical experience.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on the 6E Medical/Surgical unit with a focus on Bariatric and general surgery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement care.
• Document accurately and ensure patient safety and comfort.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team on 6E at our Boise Medical Center. For over 10 years, 6 East has been designated as a Center of Excellence for Bariatric patients. In addition, surgical specialties that we care for on our unit include Colorectal, Urology, Vascular, Gynecological, General Acute Care Surgery, and Plastic/Reconstructive procedures. Cystic Fibrosis patients are admitted here for treatment during exacerbations, and a wide variety of other general medical patients are admitted to us from the Emergency Department, outpatient clinics, or one of our Intensive Care Units.

About 6E Medical/Surgical

• This is a fast-paced 35 bed Surgical unit that is an ideal place to build strong clinical skills while caring for an increasingly diverse patient population
• Typical RN-to-patient ratio: 1:5, with reduced ratios of 1:4 for acuity when necessary
• Typical CNA-to-patient ratio: 1:8-10

Qualifications:

• Education: Nursing Degree
• Experience: 1+ years of RN experience
• Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
