Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health Department

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

Work hours: PRN, Days 7:00a – 7:00p

Behavioral Health Department highlights:
  1. Busy outpatient clinic consisting of Partial Hospital Programs and Intensive Outpatient Program serving adults with co-occurring behavioral health and chemical dependency needs.
  2. Professional nurse collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and treatment in the day hospital program.
  3. Participation in treatment team meetings as needed and teaching nursing groups three times a week for various patient groups.
Here’s What You Need
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • BCLS prior to hire.
  • BCPMHN upon hire required.
  • ACPI certification within 30 days of hire.
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
  • One year of Behavioral Health experience strongly preferred.
  • Practice within the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, and collaborate across disciplines for quality patient care.
What You Will Do
  • Deliver care utilizing the Nursing Process: assess, plan, intervene, evaluate.
  • Incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures.
  • Initiate actions to meet patient and family information needs.
  • Maintain continuity of care across shifts and transfers.
