Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, guides patient and family teaching, and supervises other nursing personnel in Telemetry. The nurse communicates with physicians about patient condition changes, diagnostic results, and symptoms. Must respond quickly to changes and be knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations, reporting abuse, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS, ACLS (within 30 days), and PALS and/or ENPC (within 30 days).
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation (within 30 days).
  • Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital; ER experience preferred.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements

  • In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire.
  • EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric courses 1 and 2 within 6 months.
  • Non-OB facilities: NRP certification within 90 days.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months.
